About MISH Hospital and Clinics

MISH Hospital and Clinics was founded in 2005 by Dr. Paramjeet Sabharwal and Dr. Wanda Kaniewski with a singular focus on providing high-quality bariatric surgical care. What began as a specialized bariatric center has grown into a comprehensive surgical hospital serving the Kansas City metro area. Our founders' commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence remains the cornerstone of everything we do.

In 2021, MISH Hospital completed a significant facility expansion to better serve our growing patient community. Today our campus features 9 hospital beds, 3 state-of-the-art operating rooms, on-site radiology with 3T MRI and CT imaging, a full-service clinical laboratory, and dedicated outpatient clinic space. This integrated model allows patients to receive comprehensive care — from pre-operative evaluation through surgery and recovery — all in one convenient location in Lenexa, Kansas.

MISH Hospital holds MBSAQIP (Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program) accreditation, the highest standard for bariatric surgical programs in the United States. Our Center of Excellence designation recognizes our sustained commitment to patient safety, surgical outcomes, and continuous quality improvement.
